Abstract
The work examines the reading interests of students of the Higher
College of Geodesy and Cartography in Semey, Republic of Kazakhstan. The purpose
of the research: to identify and analyze the range of reader interests, to create a reader
portrait of first-year students. Research task: to determine the list of works of art that are
interesting to students; to indicate the role of the family and the library in the formation
and development of students' reading needs.
